Tyson Fury And Vitali Klitschko Had A BIZARRE Encounter The Night Wladimir Lost
November 30, 2015
If you thought Tyson Fury singing Aerosmith “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” to his wife and crowd after his upset victory over former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko was bizarre, then listen to this story from the night of the fight.
Per The Mirror, Wladimir’s older brother Vitali, also a former heavyweight champion, went to the locker room of Tyson Fury before the fight began to monitor how his hands were being wrapped. But instead of signing off on the hand tape, as a representative from the opponent always does, what did Vitali do? Drew big love hearts on each hand.
Fury explained the bizarre incident:
“Vitali came into the changing room and I was expecting him to say take the bandages on and off two or three times. I was tormenting him the whole way through – saying, ‘I want you next,’ and he just didn’t mess me around. He even put some love hearts on my hand wraps.”
“I said, ‘Put some kisses on there,’ and he said, ‘I’ll do better than that’ and he put two love hearts on the wraps.”
Add this to the amount of bizarre incidents before and after the fight. Fury dressed as batman in a prefight presser beating up someone dressed as the joker, the fight had to be postponed because of a Klitschko injury, Fury threatened to pull out of the fight twice during fight week (because he didn’t like the gloves and because the ring canvas was too soft), and as the world knows now, sang Aerosmith to his wife and the crowd after his victory. He even accused Wladimir of being a devil worshipper. Love him or hate him, Fury will certainly will bring attention to the heavyweight division- if not for his ability but his antics.
Fury and Klitschko are expected to fight in a rematch in April or May of 2016.
