WATCH: A Young Conor McGregor Once KO'd Someone Faster Than He KO'd Aldo (Video)
December 19, 2015
The world is still talking about Conor McGregor’s brutal 13 second KO over former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo last weekend. However, in some rare footage that recently resurfaced from early in McGregor’s pre-UFC MMA career, he once KO’d someone even quicker than he KO’d Aldo. In fact, in the time it took Conor McGregor to finish former champion Jose Aldo, he could have beaten the guy from this video 3 times with an extra second to spare. See below.
The way he KO’d his opponent in this video is eerily similar to way he KO’d Aldo. That brutal left hand of McGregor’s will be a weapon for years to come, and something that UFC fighters should clearly take note of. McGregor last weekend became the first person to defeat Aldo in nearly a decade, and became just the 2nd featherweight champ in UFC history. It was also the quickest finish ever in a UFC championship fight.
The future is certainly bright for McGregor and his fan base. Conor’s career can only go up from his thrilling victory, and he is inching closer and closer to mainstream superstardom. He could possibly fight Frankie Edgar next who had a very impressive KO of Chad Mendes the night before UFC 194-the very same Chad Mendes who McGregor initially defeated for the interim featherweight title. McGregor has his sights set even further however-he wants to be the first UFC fighter to ever hold two belts simultaneously in two weight classes. “There will be a belt on one shoulder and a belt on the other shoulder,” he said. “When I go for that Lightweight belt and take that Lightweight belt, I will still be the Featherweight champion also. I will be a dual-weight champion, there’s no going up and vacating.” If Dana White’s statements are any indication, he will be willing to give his golden goose Conor McGregor the opportunity to do this.
